OUR VISION
Transforming arts education for an inclusive, empowered, and globally competitive creative future.

OUR MISSION AND VISION
The National Arts Education Authority in South Africa (NAEA SA) is the country’s first national body dedicated to coordinating, regulating, and innovating arts education. Rooted in the South African Constitution and aligned with the NDP Vision 2030 and UNESCO frameworks, NAEA SA champions equitable access, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment through creativity.
Our mission is to professionalise practitioners, foster inclusive participation from early childhood to adult learning, and integrate digital and Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies into the arts. By building collaborative systems, safeguarding intellectual property, and driving research, NAEA SA ensures that every learner, educator, and community has the opportunity to thrive in the creative economy.
ABOUT US
NAEA SA was established in 2025 to unify and transform South Africa’s arts education ecosystem. Guided by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC), the Authority responds to the urgent need for equitable access, professional standards, and systemic development across the creative sector.
The council is built on redressing past inequalities, empowering marginalized communities, and positioning South African arts as a global cultural export.
Through flagship programs like CACEP, NAEA SA integrates heritage, innovation, and wellness into education, ensuring lifelong and life wide learning opportunities.
